La Mer Enchantée

Vol. I

Here they are! I can show you finally some of the final pictures of La Mer Enchantée, the big project I’ve been working on during the lasts months in collaboration with Silvia Soler and Sara Olcina.

My responsibility was to give as much magic as I could to the new spring/summer collection of Silvia Soler Boutique, wich gives name to the project. And the challenge, to create pictures as pretty as the designs and to communicate the feeling she was inspired by when she was creating them.

Here there are our beautiful mermaids whose escaped from the see to bring their delicacy and sweetness to the earth…

The secret to get something different out of something that has been made always

May 15th, 2013 § 0 comments § permalink

Pro communion pictures

A few days ago I show you the girls version of this year communion pictures with the pictures of Adriana, and today I’ve brought you the boys version with Mario.

You could tell best than me, but I think they have this point that tells the difference between a good picture and a special one. That little something that you get after experimenting, just at the moment that the child starts to be himself and stops posing.

This first pictures were made with the 85mm 1.2 and natural light.

And this others using artificial light. Specifically, the AcuteB of Profoto with RFI Softbox 1×3 in front-left of the subject and also with the sun light as a backlight.

Other key thing to get that difference is to forget about what others have done before and to think on the project as any other project, with the same creativity, care and tools. Then it starts to look really profesional and closer to what you usually get.

What do you think?

Once upon a time…

Every story can be told as a fairy tale.

They are María and Luis, really nice people that are not longer clients but friends ♥

This is my version of a wedding album. It doesn’t have hard pages, bright photo paper, isn’t big, there isn’t pictures mixed with others, or shadows, or borders, or frills and flounces.

It is simply a fairy tale, a book that tells the story of a very special day, simple, clean and beautiful.

Hope you’ll like it. Specially recommended to those who are prepping their own wedding, it is full of little details that can give some ideas.

The pretty place is El Molí Nou.

How was your weekend?

Mine, as I told you, has been really bussy, but I feel quite motivated about new amazing things coming.

By the way, yesterday we had the third shoot of “Princess for a day”, you can see how it went here. When I think it can’t get prettier, something surprises me and it gets even better.

making of

I wish you have a good week, this awesome weather is raising my spirit!

Oh, I wanted to show to you this picture I found today from my first tests with Profoto flashes in studio. I think I prefer a colored or grey background instead of the white one.

Technical stuff down there.

Hard weekend ahead!

May 10th, 2013 § 0 comments § permalink

At last is friday, ieeeee! Buf, what a intense week!

However for me this is not the end of the week, right now is when the most hard part is going to start. This is one of those weekends that aren’t weekends at all, but a very long week instead. But my new decision of not to work on weekends unless it is really necessary, is making it better when I have to.

Today and tomorrow I’m going to a secret place I’m not able to say yet, and at sunday I have a intense shoot with my team, it’s the third Princess for a day, what makes 15 princess that have been in our hands.

As long as I can’t say what I will be working on, I’ve made for you a review of the lasts news I’ve published on the Fan Page lately.

Mi appearance on Polkadot, an amazing italian magazine about design, fashion and arquitecture An interview of my work and a selection of pictures of La Mer Enchantée, Swim to the light y Last Breath.

My outfit for a good friends weeding, purse from Axel and dress from Silvia Soler Boutique, of course.

La muestra de que también se hacer cosas que no sean pochi pochi y que puedo estar jugando con vísceras durante 6 horas seguidas.

And the interview by La Plaza del Mar during La Mer Enchantée shooting. In video, but in spanish.

Well, that’s all my news for the week.

Enjoy your weekend, don’t worry, I’ll be working for you all!

P.S. I’ll be posting the outfits and how the princess will be changing during the shoot on sunday, in case you want to see live: here and here.

Tips to add magic to your life (and your pictures)

Floral crowns

As you should have noticed by its usual presence on my pictures, I love floral crowns. Even the most simple image can get upside down with the color of the flowers and the delicacy and personality of the crown.

Besides, as Vogue says this month, it’s the last accessory “it” for summer nights.
I wish it would be true!

This beautiful crown Adriana wears is a gift by Encarna Pastor of Tocados+art. She has made it for my shoots. Really nice of you Encarna, thank you so much!

First communion pictures; something they’ll keep for ever.

May 7th, 2013 § 1 comment § permalink

Better not get embarrassed by them.

I’ve thought I’m going to do a crazy thing and I’m going to show you my first communion pictures later on this week, including a blossomed background and the typical basket. Do you think this kind of pictures could really represent someone’s personality? or children are really playing a rol they “must to”?

Surprisingly, some communion pictures haven’t changed as much, but fortunately, now there are more mothers looking for new things. In my opinion, more practical and lasting, because I’m sure the child will hate the classical ones.

Personally, I feel really proud to answer the phone and hear “I’m calling you because I wanted something different”. This sentence always makes me smile, it’s like the evidence that I’m doing right.

Well, I’m going to stop talking and allow you to see the pictures of Adriana’s first communion. I hope this girl won’t hate this pictures when she grow up!
